Please include your iPhone model, iOS and app versions, the steps you took, and any message shown. Replies may take a few days. You can write in English or Japanese.

You do not need to attach document photos or an exported data file to your initial email. If you include a screenshot, hide names, addresses, document numbers, and other personal details.

How do I start adding items?

Tap + in the top right of the ledger, then use Register from Photo with a photo of your document, or pick a template, to open a form for that document. If your ledger is empty, you can also tap Add an item. Check and adjust the expiry date, renewal cycle, and cost to match your own document. Items without an expiry date can be added too.

What can I use for free?

You can save up to 5 documents or belongings. A one-time purchase removes the limit, with no monthly or yearly payments. See the price under Settings tab > About the One-Time Purchase.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

Install Daicho on your new iPhone and sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account to access records and photos that have synced. Syncing can take time. Check that your records are on the new iPhone before giving up your old one.

If you don't use iCloud, or you are moving to a different Apple Account, export your records to a file and import it on the new iPhone. You can use the same export to keep a copy of your own.

  1. On your current iPhone, tap Settings tab > Export Data > Export to File, then send the file to your new iPhone with AirDrop or the Files app.
  2. Install Daicho on your new iPhone, tap Settings tab > Import Data > Choose File, and pick that file.
  3. Check the item counts shown, then tap Replace and Import.

Importing replaces all records on the new iPhone. It also replaces the records on your other devices synced through iCloud. Your photos move too.

Select the ZIP file exported by Daicho without unzipping it. Importing more than 5 items requires the one-time purchase. If you have already purchased it, restore your purchase first.

How do I restore my purchase?

Tap Settings tab > Restore Purchase. You need to be signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy it. You don't have to pay again after changing phones or reinstalling the app.

If Settings already shows "Purchased", no restore is needed. Restoring a purchase does not recover deleted records or photos.

How do I delete my data?

One at a time: open the document in your ledger, tap Delete Item at the bottom of the screen, and confirm. Its photo and notifications are deleted too.

A deleted record is also removed from your other synced devices and from iCloud.

Everything: open Settings tab > Delete All Data, read the explanation, tap the button with the same name, then choose Delete All to confirm. This deletes your documents, storage locations (names and photos), and custom words (words you added to the storage-place suggestions), and removes all scheduled notifications. Documents, locations, and photos are also deleted from your other synced devices and from iCloud. Only this device's custom words are deleted.

Your one-time purchase is not affected. Deleting the app alone does not delete records from iCloud. To remove them, delete them within the app and check that the deletion has synced to your other devices.

The developer has no copy of your records and cannot recover deleted records. To keep a copy, export it first from Settings tab > Export Data. Files already exported and events already added to your calendar are not deleted by this action.

Can I sync with other devices through iCloud?

Records and photos sync automatically between devices signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account. Each document's "Notification Lead Time" also syncs. "Default Lead Time", "Don't Keep Photos", and custom words are settings kept on each device. Notifications must be allowed separately on each device.

Your records are stored in your private iCloud area and are not shared with the developer or family members using a different Apple Account. If records are not syncing, check the Apple Account, internet connection, and available iCloud storage on both devices, then open the app and allow time for syncing.

I'm not getting notifications

Allow notifications in Settings > Notifications > Daicho on your iPhone, and check whether Focus or other notification settings are silencing them.

Reminders are scheduled for 9 a.m. on the day specified by the document's "Notification Lead Time" and on the expiry date. A lead time of 0 means the expiry date only. Documents without an expiry date and reminder times that have already passed do not trigger notifications.

For a saved document, open its detail screen and use Edit > Notification Lead Time. Changing "Default Lead Time" in Settings does not change saved documents. Up to 60 reminders are scheduled, with the soonest first. If you have many documents, restart the app from time to time to update the scheduled reminders.
